Welcome to Hunter Learner Night Drive!

The Hunter Learner Night Drive is a free community event organised by Hunter Valley Highway Patrol, Hunter Valley PD, Upper Hunter Shire Council & Proudly supported by Bengalla Mining. It aims to promote interaction between young drivers and police, offering a safe environment for learning and educating on driving safely on country roads.

Date: Friday, December 13, 2024

Time: 5:30PM - 9:30PM

Location: Scone Memorial Airport, Walter Pye Avenue, Scone

Price: $10.00 entry fee per car

Who Can Attend?

Learner drivers of any age, accompanied by a supervisor (25+).

Drivers must bring:

  • Current Learner’s Licence

  • Unrestricted Civil Road Licence for the supervisor

Activities

Driving Practice:

  • Drive around the track

  • Stationary and mobile breath tests

  • Reverse parallel parking, roadcraft, and vehicle manoeuvring

Rescue Demonstrations:

  • Mock vehicle rescue by local rescue organisations

Event Schedule

  • 5:30 PM: Venue access and registration begins

  • 6:00 PM: Briefing, information session, and rescue demonstration

  • 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM: Drive sessions

Important Information

  • Session Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours

  • Max Speed: 50km/h

  • Rules: All standard RMS Road Rules for Learners apply. Vehicles restricted to Learner and supervisor to limit distractions.
